Is this war- the invasion of Ukraine by Putin’s forces- is this comparable to the Vietnam War in form? See, I don’t know much about history but I’m learning more every day.
In an infinite game, the objective is to perpetuate the game or stay in the game as long as possible.
When you pit an infinite player against a finite player, it’s unstable because one side is playing to win, the other is playing to keep playing…
Simon Sinek introduced me to the idea of the infinite game. With the example of the Vietnam War, he offers this hypothesis as the reasoning behind how the Vietnamese ultimately won. A David and Goliath story, a tale of the underdog.
The US, however, was not fighting for their survival. And although we visited devastating blows to the Vietnamese- we won battles- we did not win the war.
