We who scream that today’s kids are too entitled and think that they deserve everything without working for it… are we the ones who are growing entitled children?

Are you above the law? Check yourself before you say that you aren’t. Recently, I heard this conversation: a parent said they “need” more snowmobiles so that all of their kids have one to ride. Boys are just learning how to ride a snowmobile, both under 12 years of age (only one even in double digits, and him, just). Never a training class for them. They are doing so good! Let’s take them on the trails… sure, they can each drive their own machines without an adult on board!

That’s not legal, is it?

No, but they are only going a short distance. Their dad will be with them on his own machine, and he said he promised them.

And look, everything was fine!

What a great lesson to teach your kids… yeah, it’s against the law, but we didn’t get caught, so everything is fine.

This is an exception, so everything is fine.

This is a special occasion, so everything is fine.

Except, this family is also a ‘law and order’ family… follow the rules or pay the consequences.
