If Civil War, Then…
…we eat your horses?
This situation will always perplex me. I had a conversation where my initial reaction was one way, and when someone brought it up with a different bias, I was blown away. His stance never even occurred to me, and the feeling is just bizarre. Why this attitude surprises me anymore is beyond me- but I’m amused by the fact that his reactions are not mine- and that makes me very happy. I think he’d very much like his view on life to be mine as well- and it’s just… not.
Phew, escaped that one!
I thought, wow, everything is a slight against him. The poor guy has got to be just miserable. From his innards, his gut feeling is one of cruelty. It’s mean. It’s all of his wicked machismo to impress his fellow man.
Gross Othering, double entendre intended.
Same guy, different day. He says, “You know if we break out in civil war, we’re going to eat your horses…”
Months ago, he was loving on those animals.
I mean, really, what was the point of the civil war comment? To make me fear him? To make-believe that he has control over me and try to rile me up? To be cruel because that’s how a person shows strength?
I honestly don’t get it. It is such an unhappy way to live.
No, that’s not “just the way it is”.
Oh yeah and preparing to eat my animals is nowhere on my radar. That is not something with which I need to pollute my mind.
