No One Wants To Work Anymore

That’s the story they want us to believe

People are getting paid too much money taking unemployment and getting the stimulus checks. That’s why the government shouldn’t be extending additional unemployment benefits and handing out stimmies.

People don’t want to work. People want free stuff and to get paid for being lazy. Businesses can’t get people to work, they just aren’t seeking employment anymore. Why should they work if the government is going to pay them to do nothing instead?

So says the right.

Hey! Hey You! Listen up… If you want people to work, give them incentive.

Like maybe pay your employees a decent living wage.

Like maybe demanding universal healthcare so that your employees can receive preventative health care and can come to work healthy.

Like maybe demanding that the government institute paid leave for all employees regardless of full- or part- time status so that people can care for themselves and their loved ones when necessary.

Like, umm, by being decent human beings and showing care for the people who give you their time, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, fattening up your wallet.
