Thank you for your take on this... although I don't agree that Denning's article has just a hiccup in it. The things you point out that you disagree with about his article are so much more than a hiccup. I usually love Tim's work, but this one, not so much. He's just saying what so many others say and he gives nothing concrete about what would "fix" this issue.

Decentralization? The only reason that I know what that means is that I sought out the information recently while learning about cryptocurrencies. Mind you, I'm not in a position to invest, just spent a cursory few minutes seeking info for some day when I might.

But the thing is many of us can't wait for the system to get fixed. And having some evidence that raising the minimum wage does not necessarily result in immediate inflation or price hikes (which I've seen in several recent articles now, woohoo), it seems to me that we need to respond appropriately and first allow our people to live with dignity... meaning we should be able to earn a living wage.

IMO, Tim's article perpetuates the notion that the system can only be understood- and changed- by those who are in it. See the problem here? Why would those who understand it (and therefore know how to 'work' it) change or dismantle that very system? Instead they say, "Well, no, you gotta understand it and then you'll be fine, come join me up here!"

Sorry, but I've got some errands to run, a house to clean, 2 teens to guide, and a job to get to today... guess I'll have to save the financial literacy for another day.
