To The Dirt Bags Who Wreck Our Days
To the dirt bags who wreck our days:
This is for you, but I’m almost 100% positive that you will never read this at all, much less with honest intention.
Our loved ones that don’t know you, they will encourage those of us who do to let bygones be bygones, water under the bridge.
I get it- they don’t know you.
There was irritation last time I was encouraged- I get that, too.
They didn’t know you.
I’m holding onto the past, and I thought maybe it was time to let go. Maybe I really could grow past this.
And then…
That encouragement turned to dismay. He said, “I get what you mean, she kinda screamed at you”.
I don’t blame him for not understanding.
He didn’t know you.
What you showed him up until ‘And then’ looked okay and his belief in me faltered.
But then…
He saw you. He saw your lack of courage to do this right. He saw you stand back and stand by while your mother fought unnecessary battles for you. And as is your way, on display. Important day, always an important day.
Again you bust in and wreck a day.
