Why can't poor people or unemployed people be satisfied?

Look here in the comment section and you'll get your answer... because the poor and unemployed are doing it wrong. And their feelings are wrong, too.

Otherwise, they wouldn't be poor or unemployed, right? The unsaid but foregone conclusion. That is the silent gaslight-y part, the part you don't know to listen for.

"You have to calculate it in a different way." - That's wrong, too. And so, is dismissed.

But I see there are lots of comments 'splaining how do life the 'right' way, and how to feel while doing it, to boot!

Thank you for bringing up this topic... I actually just published a piece today that touches on this general idea. If I had to try and sum it up, the poor and unemployed (or underemployed) are assumed to be lacking in character and values as well money, and therefore aren't 'awarded' the same level of decency.
